European Union Referendum Act

Following a long period of public discussion the UK Parliament passed the European Union Referendum Act in 2015 that the question of EU membership would be  a public vote.

The Leave campaign

The leave campaign the camping about leaving the European Union. Its main message is that in the UK should control themselves and take back control. It focused much on that by leaving the European Union they could control their money and put it in places like the NHS and control immigration. Some permanent figures were the face of the campaign like Boris junction Michael Cook of Nigel Frank and the UK Independence party.

Vote day

On 23rd of June 2016 the UK vote if they should be in the European Union or not. 33,.6 million people voted that day and by the morning of 24th of June to the 16th it was not confirmed at 51.9% had voted to leave the European Union and 48% had voted to remain meaning decision was to leave European Union

Immediate After math

After the UK had voted to leave first results was that the prime minister David Cameron resigned shortly after the vote and his replacement was Theresa May.
